Hey guys,
Being a Type 1 Diabetic is a challenge. Running 42.195km is also a challenge. But what is life without challenges?
On July 1st I am going to tackle the Gold Coast marathon. My personal purpose? To raise awareness about what can really be done with Type 1. Sometimes this disease can be seem like a limitation, a reason not to do the things we love. It is important that we realise our own potential and prove to ourselves and others that we do not have to be defined by Diabetes or other illnesses. We are all in fact strong and resilient and can do whatever we put our minds to.
With that in mind, I will be running the marathon for the Type1 Foundation, an amazing cause and one that is so important to the families effected by Type 1 Diabetes. This is a not-for-profit group with the aim to raise awareness of Type 1 Diabetes through education in schools, medical practices and the Community and provide support and connect families living with this chronic illness. Its core purpose is to advocate for the care of children living with Type 1 Diabetes in schools.
Please help me to support this wonderful charity.
