Mercedes is participating in 'Camp Borneo' with Camps International for 3 weeks at the end of this year through Bellarine Secondary College. She'll be volunteering in community projects and tree planting in degraded forests of Sabah. She needs to fund raise to be able to go. 40% of funds go direct to the local community towards the materials they'll be building with and the trees they'll be planting. Accommodation will be quite simple, just as is with the locals. Mercedes will also get the opportunity to participate in a jungle trek to soak up the breathtaking surroundings around Mount Kinabalu and also visit an orangutan sanctuary.
