On Tuesday April 17, Pilot Phil O'Driscoll's UH-1H helicopter was forced to land suddenly while flying over the Kosciuszko National Park in NSW, resulting in a heavy impact with Phil suffering serious injuries.
His courageous efforts to survive that day is not the first time Phil has faced adversity. He also survived a serious aviation accident in Canada while disregarding his own safety for the wellbeing of others. In the days and weeks preceding this accident, Phil was assisting the Rural Fire Service and the communities of Tathra and Holsworthy as an aerial water bomber, helping to save countless homes.
Phil is well respected and highly regarded by his peers in the aviation and emergency services industries, and remains an incredibly upbeat and enthusiastic bloke with a passion for flying and helping others. Your support will help a great man get back on his feet again and assist with his extensive medical bills. Phil's family will manage the donations at his request.
