Last year my two nephews Max (4) and Jack (1) were diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Along with this diagnosis came the realization that in a few years both boys will require wheelchairs to enable them to get around, along with other aids to assist them in their day to day living. I am running my first half marathon- 21.1km, at the Winery Running Festival in the Hunter Valley on Sunday the 22nd of July 2018 and want to use this opportunity to help raise funds to enable my sister and her husband to purchase wheelchairs for their precious boys and also to raise awareness of this hideous genetic disease.
