Yes, it's Mum's 90th. But you know there's really nothing much she needs right now.
That said, if there was one thing I'm sure she'd like more than anything, it would be to have some time back as her old self - managing a dinner party for 20 people, baking all manner of treats, laughing with family and friends, and remembering all the amazing times she's had over her very full and loving life.
But that devil Alzheimer's has gradually taken that away from her. Bit by bit. And over many years.
So, if you think a birthday is a great time for gifts, then maybe you'd like to donate to Alzheimer's Australia to mark Mum's 90th birthday, to honour her, and so that others in the future may never have the gift of memory so cruelly taken from them.
No pressure of course. It's just a thought.
