We’re a group of women who’ve dubbed ourselves The River Runners - because we’re embarking on a long held dream to tackle the length of Australia’s longest river, the mighty Murray! As the first step towards fulfilling this goal, this November, we will be paddling the Massive Murray Marathon. It’s a 404 km marathon over 5 days. It will be by far the longest distance any of us have done to date, but it will also just be the beginning towards realizing our eventual dream of paddling the Murray, from absolute source to sea. We're incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity - and ability - to work towards this goal, something that not everyone can enjoy. Which is why, as part of this goal, we want to help raise money for Make-a-Wish Australia. This charity grants the wishes of children aged 3-18 who are battling life-threatening diseases. If through our efforts we can light up some smiles of these ill children and their families, it would make our journey a much sweeter one.
