Faith’s Fight

I have started this fundraising campaign on behalf of some close family friends who also happen to be my neighbours.
On Saturday the 3rd of March 2018, life for the Cooper family changed. Aaron and Christal Cooper’s beautiful little 15 week old baby girl Faith, became unwell so they took her to their GP where an ambulance was called and she was rushed straight to the Toowoomba Base hospital where she was diagnosed with Group B Strep meningitis and sepsis and has now taken on the fight of her life.
Unfortunately today Faith has taken a turn for the worst and has had a number of seizures and instability with her heart rate. The hospital has conducted X-rays and she will be going for an MRI scan later today to investigate if there is any brain damage. Tomorrow she will go to Brisbane to have a picc line inserted then return to the Toowoomba Hospital.
For the immediate future it is imperative that Faith has the strength of her family by her side especially her two parents. She is expected to remain in hospital for quite a few months just for treatment alone and Faiths road to recovery will be long and hard with possible long term damage including eplilepsy, loss of hearing, loss of sight and brain damage.

This is a young beautiful and hard working family who have had a strong connection over many years with our local Horse racing industry. Christal is a stay at home Mum to Faith and her 3 older brothers and Aaron is a farrier by trade who is self employed doing track/stable work on top of his farrier work. Understandably Aaron is currently unable to work as he needs to be by his daughters side and be there for his wife and 3 boys.

Faith’s three older brothers are all school aged and luckily they have the support of loving family including Aaron’s Mum and friends to help ensure these boys can maintain as normal of a routine as possible and not miss out on the emotional care they need and schooling during this tough time. Christal’s Mum is even making her way over from New Zealand to offer her support at such a hard time.

All of your donations will go directly to Christal and Aaron and their family to help cover the ever-growing financial costs associated with Faiths treatment and rehabilitation which at this point is unknown and will continue to increase as time goes on. You generous donations will also allow Aaron to be there for his family without the financial burden or stress of being unable to work and provide for them.

Any donation not matter how small will make a huge difference. Even if you skip your weekly coffee and donate $5 it will all add up and go to an amazing young family who really need our help.

I’d also like to ask people to share this campaign as the more people who share it, the more people we will reach.

UPDATE: Faith has now been flown to Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital in Brisbane as she took a turn for the worse yesterday. Both her parents are by her side and Aaron is unable to work as he needs to be there with his daughter and wife. This family is self employed and does not receive benefits. They now have no income coming in so we really need you guys to dig deep. Thank you all xxx
