Dakotah Davis - Sunflower Queen Entrant 2018

I am an entrant in the Central Highlands Sunflower Quest 2018 & my chosen charity for fundraising is BUSHKIDS Emerald, I've chosen this charity because it is local to the area, and I am passionate about not only agriculture but the rural community in general which is suffering greatly at the present due to drought. With some farming families struggling to pay for the necessities, there are many charities carting hay or helping pay to keep livestock alive but the healthcare of their children is also awfully important. Growing up on the coast there were never concerns about how far away a doctor was or any other health professional I required, often they were only a short trip away into town whereas that is not always the case for families living in remote locations.

That is why I chose BUSHKIDS emerald, they have a team of speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists and family health support workers, providing free preventative health care to children and families who are unable to access the services locally due to either unaffordability or unavailability
