21km, 3060m ascent + descent, 9-10 hours. On Labor Day weekend (11th March) this year I'll be challenging myself by climbing Mount Bogong - the highest mountain in the state of Victoria, Australia. This is something I've wanted to do for a long time after seeing and admiring the mountain almost every year of my life, and hearing stories of my grandmother and mother climbing it. I'm pretty darn unfit so this will be quite the adventure of relentless climbing for me ;)
The main part of the challenge is actually to raise funds for some causes that are very close to my heart: animals, homelessness, and mental health. You can read more on the right about how each of the charities, Black Dog Institute (mental health research) and Pets of the Homeless, makes a real difference. Also check out: https://www.blackdoginstitute.org.au/ and https://petsofthehomeless.org.au/
Help motivate me and make a difference by making a donation to the charities I'm fundraising for! Please try split your donation between both charities if you can :)
Please also feel free to donate to other charities too - there are so many other worthy charities out there, it was hard to pick just two (also note I deliberately didn't choose current or former employers of mine because I thought it might be a bit odd to do so - but they're both awesome!).
Also note Black Dog Institute is a certified Humane Charity (conducts human biology based medical research, not animal testing).
