In Feb/March 2018 we (Dave and Kristan) travelled to 100% hOPE in Uganda for 2 weeks. Our goal was to support the work being done by 100% hOPE and experience life in Uganda. It has been an amazing journey where I (Kristan) was able to work in 100% hOPE's school helping teachers train in literacy groups and Dave worked on the 100% hOPE's farm self sustainability project, planting eucalyptus trees.
100% hOPE is a charity founded in 2011 by Trishelle Sayuuni (need Grady) which gives underprivileged children in developing countries a future and a hope through educational development and self-sufficient communities. 100% hOPE currently has operating a primary school, sponsorship program, vocational training, childrens' homes and self-sustainability projects.
100% hOPE's next project is to build a babies home which will house 40 babies between the ages of 0-3. It was amazing to see the foundations being laid while we were there and it should be completed in June. We also had the privilege of spending our time in Uganda with the first member of the babies home...Christine. Christine is 4 weeks old and unfortunately her mum passed away at 32 when giving birth to her. Trishelle and Fred have taken Christine into their family until the babies home is completed. Christine is precious and we loved our time with her.
Whilst the money has been raised to build the home, there is a need for fundraising to furnish it. This is where we saw that we could help and, if you are able, we would love if you could partner with us!!
$100 provides a cot, mattress and bedding for one child and we have set a challenge to raise $4,000 to cover the set up cost for all the babies! Any funds raised over that amount will go towards further needs in the babies' home such as the house mothers' beds, lounges, change tables etc.
All donations are Tax Deductible and we can ensure that 100% of your donations go directly to 100% hOPE in Uganda and 100% of the money is spent on the babies home!
