About
My name is Genny Haines. I have an intellectual disability and I am hoping to attend the Inclusion International World Congress in Birmingham, in May 2018.
I am a member of the Self-Advocacy Committee at Participate Australia, and I am passionate about the rights and inclusion of people with a disability. I enjoy being able to teach others about speaking up and advocating for themselves.
The Inclusion International World Congress brings together people with disabilities from all over the world, to discuss the rights and inclusion of people with a disability in all areas of life. People with disabilities deserve the same rights as all members of society, and the Inclusion International World Congress will teach skills and techniques from around the world for supporting and advocating on my rights.
It is a passion of mine to help advocate for the rights of others, and attending the World Congress in May 2018 would be a dream come true. It's also been a dream of mine for over two decades to travel to the UK and this would also give me the opportunity to explore my heritage, and find my roots.
I have already successfully raised some of the money toward the cost of attending the World Congress, but I need your help to reach my final goal. The money that I raise will go towards the cost of a support worker to attend with me, to ensure I can maximise the opportunity of attending the Inclusion International World Congress. Without a support worker I would be unable to travel safely, and participate fully in the World Congress.
I hope you feel as strongly as I do about advocating for the rights of people with a disability, and I would love if you were able to donate to my dream of attending the Inclusion International World Congress in May 2018.
safe travel and good luck to both of you!cheers!
