The Gibb Challenge is a 660km bicycle event along the Gibb River Road from Derby to El Questro in the Kimberley region of WA. The aim of the event is to increase community awareness and raise money for charity, with this year’s beneficiary The Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS).
Our team, the Corro Crusaders, has had some major changes and is now made up of healthcare and education professionals mostly based in Derby. RFDS plays a role in our lives each and every day, and The Gibb Challenge is the perfect opportunity to give back to RFDS.
RFDS makes it possible to live and work safely in these beautiful remote areas of Australia. There is always a level of comfort to know that if things were to go wrong with our family or friends that help is never too far away.
Jess sadly had to pull out of The Gibb Challenge, and for a while there we were wondering if we were gonna get our team up and running. Luckily, The Corro Crusaders have pulled through and we have Nik (pictured above) on our team as our third rider! Nik is in his second year living in Derby, working at Derby District School!
This will be our first Gibb Challenge and our team is bloody excited to get involved! Thank you for any donation you can spare or words of support!
