The Light Ball was originally set up in Dublin in 2012 to raise money for Pieta House, a charity that has helped thousands of young people with mental health issues and suicide prevention. Since 2012, the Light Ball has expanded and now has an annual event in Sydney, raising funds for Australian charity batyr.
batyr offer a range of programs that ‘give a voice to the elephant in the room.’ From training young people to share their lived experience of mental ill health, to running dynamic programs in schools, universities and corporate arenas, batyr aims to #smashthestigma surrounding mental health and encourage young people in Australia to reach out for support when they need it. 82% of participants surveyed indicated that they are more likely to seek help after a batyr program.

The inaugural Light Ball Melbourne will take place in The San Remo Ballroom on Saturday February 24th and tickets can be purchased on the link below
People who can't make the event can still make a difference and donate. Every little helps and your donations are greatly appreciated. Committee members are all volunteers, so all money raised goes to charity.
