About

Hello and thank you for stumbling on our page. Pat Bowden (Patographics) and I (Julz Larsen - El Jistos) are raising money for those in need, particularly Australians who are homeless and living rough, and we need your help.

We would like to raise money to donate to StreetSmart, who are a non profit organisation that believe no one should be without a safe and secure place to call home, and aim to take action against homelessness by supporting critical services and emergency aid as well as projects that promote social inclusion, empowerment and sustainable change for people who are homeless. To date they have raised and distributed over $3.8 million to 452 organisations funding more than 1150 projects.

Everyday People is a song by El Jistos, with a music video filmed and edited by Patographics. The song itself is a sombre observation of the issue of homelessness in our country, coupled with a video in which we tried to capture the faces, personalities, and real life stories of people who were living on the streets (with their permission and blessing). We offered them food, coffee, and places to stay, and asked their permission to film them and to do an interview of sorts. We wanted to get to know their story and their reality, and how the two of us doing a cold day in Katoomba and a cold night in the city for filming compared to them living through that possibly every day. Due to some understandable issues with being filmed, we didn't come away with a whole lot of content, but the stories we did get were worth it.

Once we raise $2500 we will release the video clip for Everyday People in support of our goal, and as a thank you. Everyone who makes a donation will have their name in the credits of the video. This is our attempt at making a small difference, and using our reach and influence to speak about an issue we both feel strongly about. Thank you for your help and donations, it means a lot to us and even more to those who are less fortunate.

23 year old El’ Jistos (Julz Larsen) is the founder of Catalyst Punk Records, beginning the label as a platform to release his own music independently. He now operates the label as a recording studio specialising in vocal production.

El’ Jistos however is no stranger to the stage. Having headlined two successful album launches in Sydney and the Blue Mountains as well as playing shows in Melbourne and Newcastle El’ Jistos continues to perform regularly and hosts several events for the Hip Hop Community. One example is the not for profit ‘Roots Run Deep’ hip hop showcase.

Roots Run Deep has helped many acts (Yakobi, Jannah Beth, Aeonic, Talakai) find their paths by maintaining a mission statement of building a strong network and sense of community around the event. This has resulted in bringing many people together and has directly helped artists expand their networks and open the doors of opportunity.

In an illusive past life El’ Jistos has supported many acts among Australian Hip Hop royalty including Thudamentals, The Tounge, Spit Syndicate, Rappaport, Hermitude, Urthboy, Dialectrix, and Joe New, but a bit more about that later…..
