December 1st this year I'm shaving my head to raise money for my dad's (Stu's) cancer treatment.
We recently found out that dad's oesophageal cancer has recurred and doctors have advised that after the current chemo finishes he may need immunotherapy treatment; for the AFL supporters it's the same treatment that Jarryd Roughead received.
Immunotherapy isn't covered by the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme and costs approximately $5000.00 per treatment every three weeks which adds up to around $80,000.00 over a 12 month period. When I found this out I was shocked at the cost and frustrated that my family are in this situation so I felt compelled to act.
My goal is to raise $5000.00 - which is the cost of one of the 17 treatments Dad may need to have. So to kick off this summer I will be losing my locks in support of my very brave dad. I figure this is the very least I can do given all the times he has supported me over the years.
I can't do this without your support so if you can please donate any amount of money to this cause (even $1 will help) and/or share this page I will be and my family will be so appreciative.
Thanks so much and please keep Stu in your thoughts.
Love Kimberley x.
*please note that for any reason that the treatment does not go ahead all funds will be donated to the Cancer Council.
