Raising funds for: Matthew Hurrell
My younger brother, Matthew Hurrell, a proud Father, Son, Brother, Best friend and Soul Mate to Dominque Matthew is dying from Metastatic Pleomorphic Sarcoma a very rare bone cancer. He is terminal under palliative care at home and fighting for more time with his Wife, Children and family. The funds raise will be banked into Matthews Bank account and go toward daily essentials and create some stability within the home We want to ease the financial stress on Matthew’s Family, no donation is too big or too small all we are asking for is $1 donation as it all adds up. IF we can get 50,000 people in Newcastle NSW to donate $1 this will gift the family and relief the current financial stress, as the stress is unimaginable Matthew is real, the most placid, hardworking, grateful, unselfish person I know his best trait is his most precious possessions his children, they are his world and his children idolize him. Matthew has been unable to work and support his family since being diagnosed with Metastatic Pleomorphic Sarcoma Matthew is young father age 39, of 5 beautiful children The Youngest Dylan 18 months who suffers with cerebral palsy due to a stroke at birth, the result from a stressful pregnancy as Matthews wife Dominique was 5 months pregnant when Matthew was diagnosed in May 2015 At the same time of Dylan’s birth our younger sister Jessica 21 years old was in a ward downstairs at the same hospital dying from rejection of lungs from Cystic Fibrosis, we lost her just days after Dylan was born Then we have Aleisha 3 years old, Candice 7 years old, Caleb 14 years old and Kirra 18 years old. In May 2015 Matthew’s arm started to hurt so badly he was unable to move it or work, he thought it was from injury and scans and testing came back as positive for a cancerous tumor Matthew was treated wonderfully by the Chris O'Brien cancer center in Sydney. A wonderful Orthopedic Surgeon removed the tumor found in the top of his arm, and replaced his arm with an-orthopedic shoulder and bars, then scheduled for 6 rounds of the most aggressive chemo hospitalized for doses at the Chris O'Brien center scheduled every 4 weeks. Matthew unfortunately only completed only 4 as his body was unable to tolerate anymore, a huge scare of losing him, but we got him back. We then had the miracle news that his Pet scan was clear, rejoice No More Cancer Late one night 3 months after he called me as he thought a ball bearing had dislodged from the shoulder joint, he asked me to take him to the local hospital to check so not to disturb his wife and 5 children as it was very late in the evening when he found it. The tumor had grown back it felt like a little ball bearing solid. Matthew was hospitalized back in Royal Prince Alfred Sydney for the removal within the 2 weeks wait it had grown huge. Matt endured 4 weeks of intense radiation. Matthew then was advised that they needed some time to really study his sarcoma as it is so rare. After some time passing no success on any target drug, Matthew started a brief trial at St Vincent's Sydney, but only got 2 infusions as they said another tumor had started to form so he was removed from treatment, that was in March this year. The tumors have spread throughout his lungs making it difficult for Matthew breathe This takes a toll and breaks my heart, with the his children's comments His 7 year old said out of nowhere “you know the rain forest, the trees make oxygen” (obviously learnt at school I guess ) “so dad just needs to live in a tree so he can breathe better” From the bottom of my heart Yours in hope, God Bless Larissa Manning

I haven’t shared this link for sometime now as grief and so much loss has made it very difficult to simply do this to again have to acknowledge the reality of our families loss a cruel reminder but today it is with love that I share again to thank some truely beautiful souls from Cardiff medical centre and skin cancer clinic to thank Dr Beukes, Sue and all their beautiful staff who today blessed Dom and her 5 children with surprise Xmas gifts to try and make their Xmas a little more bearable and special. The truth is they say time heals but THEY no nothing time doesn’t heal nor does it make it easier it gets harder as it becomes more real and the support slowly dwindles as life goes on for everyone but every day she wakes up and starts each day knowing that it is not a bad dream. Dom is a survivor Matthew was and would be even more proud of the wonderful mother she is surviving day to day for her 5 children. Dom and I were very humbled and very grateful for all the support shown to her and the children when I first started this page 5 months ago it was beautiful and it has only been 4 months now since Matthew lost his battle with cancer and we said good bye and things have not got easier for her a full time mum of 5 with Rent, bills and the simple cost of living try doing that on a Centrelink budget but yet this girl does not and will not complain nor ask she is a proud young mother who’s loss and situation is real and today for a brief moment the love of these people reminded Dom and I that people who knew and cared for Matthew also grieve and understand and know her true reality of her situation. Life has dealt more unbearable grief again to our family with the recent unexpected loss of our younger sister weeks ago so life is harder not easier and Dom and all of us are struggling to even contemplate Xmas but today you reminded us that these kids will be reminded of what Xmas is and I truely thank you xxxxxx Larissa

Thanks for donating to my Fundraising Page Matthew Hurrell. I am truely grateful for your generous help to support this beautiful family so far. The hardest journey has just begun, the bravery of Dominique to get up everyday and nurture her 5 children through the tortue of loosing their daddy, when she herself is trying to make sense, why, such a cruel Reality for her but also to try to explain to her babies who scream for him at night. This woman is a true soldier, please dig deep as she is the sole carer/provider for this family of 6 and obviously can't work with her babies a 1yr old , 4yr old, 7yr old, 14 yr old and an 18 year old to care for. Your support not matter how small helps but also shows you care in a world that has torn this family to pieces. God Bless Larissa

Anyone that knows me, knows how important family is to me! This is my cousin Matt. Growing up I looked up to him, he is that cool cousin. He is a great basketball player, we have played in many mixed basketball teams over the years. I couldn't tell you how many 3'pters I have seen him pot. He is a great Dad! He loves his kids and seeing the way they look at him is heartwarming. He is a devoted husband who has one of the most loving and genuine wife ever. He is and has always been cheeky as shit, and loves stirring up someone, with a smile and a laugh. And it's heartbreaking to see him and his family go through this! Share Matthew's Story as the more we have shared it the more it has spread, we have no words to the amount of support we have currently had over the past few Days. Our Goal is 50,000 Newcastle residents to donate $1 to this beautiful family Matty we are praying for you tonight Thank you all so much! God Bless Lisa
