The ACU Midwifery Society prides itself on improving birthing conditions and empowering women globally. In 2015 we fundraised and held our inaugural birth kit assembly night with great success. Since then our efforts have equated to 4000 birth kits being distributed to vulnerable women in developing countries. In 2017 we successfully reached our goal of 1000 birth kits.
After great success our annual birthing kit assembly night is going a head again 2018. So please join us by sharing this page, donating and coming along to the assembly night.
An estimated 385,000 women die annually in childbirth, many from preventable infection. Birthing kits contain the essential items that reduce the chance of newborn babies contracting deadly diseases such as HIV and tetanus.
Each kit contains; a sheet of plastic, soap, gloves, string, gauze and a sterile scalpel blade all in a small press seal plastic bag. With an individual cost of only $3 you have the potential to save lives for less then what you would pay for your morning coffee.
So please join us in saving lives and reaching our goal of 3000 birth kits in 2017. Every dollar counts!
With love and gratitude
