Hello, My name is Trinh and i'm 25 years old, I graduated two years ago in veterinary medicine at the University of Hue in Vietnam. For the Last two years, I have been working for a charity run Veterinary clinic, learning from internationally qualified vets, to improve my skills in the field of work I love. It has always been my dream to help animals and raise awareness of the animal welfare standards in Vietnam. I was brought up in the countryside of Hoi An, where i have seen the constant neglect and mistreatment of animals all my life. Unfortunately, there are no laws or legislations in my country that can prevent or deter these acts of animal abuse. Having the opportunity to get an internship at Monier Veterinary Clinic in Queensland, Australia, means I can gain the knowledge and experience that virtually no other Vietnamese vet has, (due to the low veterinary education standards), bringing safer and more humane methods of veterinary procedures back home to Vietnam. In the long term, i hope to become the most qualified Vet in Vietnam, and educate future vets to a higher welfare standard- ultimately, improving the lives of animals throughout Vietnam.
