The "My May Challenge" began in 2015 as a result of witnessing the daily struggles that dementia places on sufferers, family members, and carers. Through this challenge we hope not only to raise funds but to raise awareness of the importance of Brain Health and its holistic approach to the prevention of dementia in people as young as 40.
This challenge stems from the original "5k a Day in May" concept but has now branched into participants creating their own personal challenge depending on their own abilities and fitness levels. The main aim is for participants to complete some form of 'brain-healthy' activity and do it 'everyday' during the month of May.
This year I have decided to do something completely crazy and will join 80 others who will be completing the Worlds Highest Marathon.. the Tenzing Hillary Everest Marathon. This takes place on the 29th May following an 11 day hike to Everest Base Camp. This is MY MAY CHALLENGE which will be the perfect conclusion to a month long adventure and one in which I can share with others on my return. I can't wait to share these adventures with you and the rest of the participants.
By supporting this cause you are helping raise vital funds and awareness for those suffering with this incurable disease which is now the 2nd leading cause of death in Australia.
Thank you for reading our campaign page and supporting the cause. Why not go the next step and join me on this challenge. Your gift of Brain Health starts here.
