The March for Science is a global movement bringing together people from all walks of life to celebrate the value and importance of science in our society. We will meet at 11am on Saturday 22 April and march down George Street to the Speakers Corner outside Parliament House.
It is a march for science, not scientists; and we are actively encouraging people from all professions, races, genders, religions and socioeconomic backgrounds to attend. This diverse group is unified by a love for science and an insatiable curiosity. We recognise that science is everywhere and affects everyone.
We need financial assistance to help cover the costs related to the march for example, staging and sound equipment and public liability insurance.
The Brisbane March for Science is part of a global event taking place on Sat 22 April that will bring together people from all walks of life to celebrate the important role of science in our society.

I am a proud Science teacher, and in addition to respect for scientific understanding and enjoyment of and carrying out science-related activities over my career, many of life's highlights have had much to do with Science. These range from being awoken to view a moving dot in the night sky as a child in 1957 (the first artificial satellite), watching spellbound as on black and white TV Prof Julius Sumner Miller challenged many young minds, the Apollo moon landings, and more recently the efforts to entertain
