Brayden is a gorgeous and courageous 4 year old little boy from South Australia that has been diagnosed with an extremely rare type of cancer called Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis (just weeks after his 3rd birthday). He is currently receiving chemotherapy, ongoing since diagnosis, along with a pile of other medications to counteract the side effects of the disease as well as the effects of the chemo.
In addition to Brayden’s medications and chemotherapy plus many more trips in to Adelaide, this disease has so far caused Brayden to lose more than 50% of his hearing in 1 ear and there is no certainty as to what will come next for him. LCH is regarded as a rare type of cancer, however the long term effects to his body as he grows can be severe and devastating. This disease can be horrific in some cases and quite often rear its ugly head in years to come. We remain positive Brayden will be one of the lucky ones!!!
His amazing mum Tammy is doing an amazing job, but as a single parent it does get tough, she also has Brayden’s little sister Olivia to care for. She is making ends meet, but she does get exhausted, and is often stressed or constantly worried. Not knowing what lies ahead for Brayden means that Tammy is always thinking about his future. This funding campaign is designed to take some of the financial burden away from her. For her to be able to know those little extras are already taken care of, would mean that she can focus her energy on her children and be the best mum she can for them.
We are hoping to also be able to give them a well deserved break from what is their every day reality. To have enough money to send them on a wonderful little family holiday once Brayden gets a decent break from chemo and/or is in remission (fingers crossed!) would be fantastic. We would love for Brayden to have awesome memories of his childhood and not always have them overshadowed by his treatment and hospitals.
It has been, and will continue to be, a day by day battle with LCH and this beautiful family not only deserves a little help, but I know they will also be eternally grateful for your support.
