Darren Perry is a most esteemed Ngintait man, who has contributed very significantly to justice with regard to Aboriginal water rights in the Murray-Darling Basin. Through his efforts over many years, in concert with other Traditional Owners associated with the Murray Lower Darling Rivers Indigenous Nations Group, Darren has offered strong leadership and been essential to the success of recognising Aboriginal rights to Country in Victoria. On the weekend of January 7th 2017, while driving with his family, Darren suffered a serious car accident. While his family is fine, Darren's neck was broken, and he suffered extensive damage to his head. His most cherished dog was very badly wounded, as well as his car being written off. Added to this, Darren was to start a great new job on Monday, and now this important opportunity for him and his young family, has also been thwarted. Friends and work colleagues are hoping we can meet some of Darren's very significant costs for the vet and his car, to help him while he recuperates.
