Raising funds for: Andrew Gray
My close friend Andrew Gray, husband of Sue and father of three young kids Thomas, Darcy and Amy has Adrenal Cortical Carcinoma (ACC) caused by a cancerous growth in the adrenal cortex. He is now stage 4 with tumours spreading to liver and lungs after already having an adrenal gland, kidney and 1.1kg tumour removed. This Cancer is as rare as rocking house shit as most adrenal gland tumours are non malignant. Only 5-10% are malignant. Andrew now needs to undergo extensive chemotherapy which will take him away from his family for at least 6 months as he's unable to travel once starting treatment. The risk of catching an illness during travel is far to great to allow travel as you are unable to carry on with any treatment if the immune system is compromised. Needless to say there is great expense associated with such treatment. We alll know Andrew will fight this and win but I just want to help lighten the load for him by helping a little financially so he can concentrate on ridding his body of this evil shit. So I'm dedicating my Solo swim to Rottnest island to help raise funds from you guys.

WOW. What a response! We've been live on the fundraising website for just on 24 hours and we have exceeded $20000.00. We are blown away by your generosity. It's obviouly, absolute testimony to Andrew character as a true champion bloke. Those of you who know Andrew will know that he plays his cards pretty close to his chest, whether at the casino or dealing with life challengers. So it's been a bit of a challenge adjusting to what's occurred here (the spotlight). I can tell you that Andrew is overwhelmed with what's happened over these last 24 hours. He is Truly stunned by the love and support show by all of you. He has read all your comments (through blurry eyes ????) and can't thank you enough for the help. While he would like to thank you all individually I'm sure you can understand there are other primary focuses right now. So thanks ???? from me and I'll try not to screw the swim up (or get eaten by a shark, like Paul Dallow wants) and Andrew will use this extra energy to jump though the hoops and kick this thing.
