Vicky's diagnosis of Stage 2b Breast Cancer came when she was just settling into her new role as a Mum and her world quickly changed from play dates to hospital appointments.
Due to her young age, and the aggressive nature of the tumour, she decided to take every treatment available to give her the best chance of kicking it's ass! This meant major surgery, followed by 8 months of chemo, then Radiation, and drug therapy for 6 years.
During her treatment I have never once heard her complain, and she has taken it in her stride, demonstrating extraordinary strength & positivity. All the while caring for her beautiful baby daughter and continuing to be an amazing Wife & Mum.
As you can understand dealing with all of this puts immense stress into anyone's life and Vicky & Sam also have added financial stress, as being temporary Australian Residents, most of the government financial support options are not available to them and of course, Vicky has been unable to return to work.
So this is where you come in.
As I'm sure everyone wants to help, but perhaps doesn't know how-especially Vicky's friends overseas- here is a way you can help ease this difficult time, in a really practical way.
Vicky has (reluctantly!) agreed to allow me to set up this page as a way to help. Vicky is so grateful for all the help she has received over the last few months, with transport to chemo, child care etc that she doesn't feel she can ask for any more. I disagree, and that's why you're reading this :)
Please donate whatever you can, as together we can make great things happen xxx
Vicky was diagnosed with Stage 2b Breast Cancer earlier this year at just 31 years old, and with a new baby. She has been coping amazingly well with all the treatment, however as you can imagine it takes its toll emotionally and financially. And that's where you can help relieve some of the stress..
