Bear was abandoned at the pound. He was a horrible sight of inhumane neglect.
Bear's skin was covered in sores with large amounts of fur missing, his ears were terribly infected and his feet were swollen and extremely painful.
At HAART we specialise in cases like this and we just knew that we had to help Bear. Unfortunately, after a full examination by our wonderful friends at Greencross Vet, Bear's condition turned out to be so much worse than we thought. Bear underwent a 3.5 hour surgery to remove some of the tumours on his back, amputate several toes and flush his ears. A full vet report is in the image section here.
Bear may need more surgery, his tumours may be malignant and his eardrums may be permanently damaged.
Despite all this suffering Bear has such an amazing disposition. He is happy to be safe, happy to be loved and happy to be getting the care he needs. He loves people and other dogs, has the most kind, gentle eyes and is the biggest smooch you will ever meet. Oh, and let's not forget his amazing singing voice!
Please consider donating a few dollars to help us help Bear.
Bear is also in need of a permanent foster home while he receives his treatment. If you think this is with you please email dogs@haart.org.au. All food, medication and vet care will be provided. You will need to be able to take him to Greencross vet in Subiaco for his check-ups.
