One in six Australian women has experienced violence from a current or former partner.
One in three Australian women will experience violence in their lifetime. As at the end of September this year Sixty-three women have been killed in Australia this year.
There were 12,561 women who were victims of assault in NSW last year.
That’s 34 a day.
Of those, 9,651 were assaults by a partner and another 2,993 were ex-partners.
I am again joining a 230km bicycle ride from Newcastle Central Police Station to Blacktown Workers Club in Sydney departing Newcastle on Saturday 19th November 2016 to raise awareness and much needed to funds to support the many victims of domestic and family violence.
The statistics mentioned above highlight what a terrible price some women face on a daily basis.
I'm gearing up and making a difference by fundraising for a cause that's close to my heart. I’d appreciate any contribution, big or small.
Donations made through this platform are secure and will be remitted directly through to Taree Women's Refuge
