Michael Hurley has a thing for outlandish hairstyles!

First it was his dreadlocks, but now in his year away from the game, the Essendon defender has cultivated an impressive and luscious beard.

Now Hurls wants to feel the wind on his chin again, and is aiming to raise $20,000 towards the MAD foundation before shaving it off.

“I have done a bit of stuff with the MAD Foundation for the last 5 or 6 years. Now looking forward to the beard coming off and raising some money for such an amazing charity!” said Hurley

The beard will finally come off on December 5 as Hurley hopes to raise money to purchase much needed equipment for 5 year old cerebral palsy sufferer Rye Johnson. The Shaver Shop has already donated $10,000 which will go towards a new bed for Rye.

“Rye has had a couple of incidents during the night where he has tried to get out of bed and hurt himself so we are trying to help out.” Hurley said.

Hurls and the MAD Foundation community would love your support, so please donate now!
