About

As many of you know, Pete is an adventure, fun loving, and fiercely loyal son, brother, and friend.

On September 16, 2016 Pete was in a horrific accident. While driving his motorbike in his current home of Phnom Phen, he was struck by a young driver who was speeding, had been drinking, and didn't have his lights on.

Pete has sustained very serious injuries to his right leg and has undergone 4 surgeries in the Royal Phnom Phen Hospital. He is now having to be relocated to Bangkok as the medical team in Phnom Phen have done all they can.

Pete's beautiful finance El along with his Mum Fran, Dad Steve, and incredible friends in Phnom Phen have been by his side, donating blood, and supporting Pete during this painful, traumatic and quite frankly, scary time.

With the relocation to Bangkok, Pete will undergo many more surgeries to try and rebuild his leg, and will spend at least 2 months in hospital. The family will need to find a place to stay, and will be at the hospital day and night to support our beloved Pete.

Friends and family from all over the world have been sending their love and support since news of the accident broke. This is unchartered territory for many of us who feel helpless as we continue our everyday lives too far away to feel like we can really do anything.

So here is our chance to help support Pete and El as they spend the next few months before their impending wedding getting Pete healthy again. Every dollar will help and I know Pete, El, and the Maitland family would be truly grateful.
