The 5k a Day in May challenge began in 2015 as a result of witnessing the daily struggles that dementia places on sufferers, family members, and carers. Through this challenge I hope not only to raise funds but to raise awareness of the importance of Brain Health and its holistic approach to the prevention of dementia in people as young as 40.

In 2003, Alzheimer's Australia established the Hazel Hawke Alzheimer’s Research and Care Fund to support dementia care research. Managed by the Dementia Australia Research Foundation, donations will fund emerging researchers looking at ways to improve dementia care across Australia.
