Cathys ms cure

It was a cold day, Ben (my husband) and I were heading to our favourite place "Bright" north east Victoria. I started the day feeling tired and felt a little numb on my left hand and thought nothing of it. The numbness travelled from my fingers, up my arm and into my face, and I lost balance. I still thought nothing of it being young I never thought I could get a debilitating illness.

When we came home from Bright I saw a neurologists who said he didn't have a crystal ball and I could have had a stroke, a brain tumour or even MS. I was kind of hoping it was a brain tumour rather than MS as I had seen what MS can do to a person and knew there was no cure.

After some time and quite a few different neurologists, being pricked, tested and scanned so many times I was starting to get some answers. I was with Ben in a waiting room at the hospital and it felt like the time was going so slow. The neurologist came in and said I have an answer....its MS. The life I once knew was gone and I felt I was doomed and knew my fate.

I have had Ms since I was 23, I was only married for 6 months and should have been living the dream with my fantastic husband but instead we were working out the future we had for us both.

I am now 34 and know how lucky I am with my wonderful supporting family and a beautiful little girl.

I decided to have this stem cell treatment to put a halt to the disease and live a healthier and longer life with my family, but it comes with a risk and cost.

I'm on the waiting list for the HSCT treatment in Russia. The financial cost will be quite high.

Who ever thought I would be going to Russia and why I can't get this treatment in Australia. I have tried to have this treatment in Australia but I am considered too healthy and by the time I deteriorate I would have had Ms too long and again do not fit the criteria…..so Russia here we come.
