Yup it's time to don the tutu's again! Help raise awareness and prevention of suicide and along the way raise some much deserved pennies for Lifeline. Again, in loving memory and bloody joyous celebration of Adz, and coinciding with what would/should have been his 32 birthday, we are off again! Me and a bunch of courageous (and maybe a little crazy) folk will hike the 200+kms from Ballarat to Bendigo; wearing tutus, camping out and carrying all our gear, along the Goldfields Track. This journey will take us 10 glorious days, during which time we will be raising awareness and funds for suicide and Lifeline. So ... thank you for your support: in coin (however much), in thoughts and well wishes, in sharing memories joyful and full of sorrow xxxx ?Suicide Statistics from Lifeline?Suicide is the leading cause of death for Australians aged 15-44?2,522 people die by suicide every year?Every 10 minutes one new suicide attempt is made in Australia?Men account for 3 out of 5 deaths by suicide?Over 1000 people think about suicide every day?Indigenous people are 2 ½ times more likely to die by suicide than non-indigenous peoples?Lifeline answers a new call on 13 11 14 every minute and is reliant on community support to sustain this vital service.?So let us support the heck outta this amazing service and maybe: chuck on ya tutu and join, ask r u ok? be honest and seek help when needed
p.s. This year I've got a Facebook page up and running (well I hope!) so get on board and follow and/or join our journey along there too
