Rylan's Leukemia Battle

Rylan is a 6 year old boy from Bendigo, the first child for Clo and Damo and big brother of baby Sophia. Clo recently found a lump in Rylan's neck and quickly took him to the hospital and his GP. Following a series of blood tests, there were abnormalities found in Rylan's blood count. Rylan was taken straight to the Royal Children's hospital in Melbourne.

The following day (3 July 2015), on his 6th birthday, Rylan was diagnosed with Lymphoblastic Leukemia after going under anesthetic to have bone marrow tested and a lumbar puncture. That same day Rylan commenced intensive chemotherapy.

Many of you will know Rylan's grandparents, Jamie and Belinda - Over many years Jamie has put an enormous amount of his time, effort and $ into local football clubs, especially the North Bendigo Football/Netball Club. Belinda gives back to the community by working with and caring for the disabled. Anyone who knows the family knows they would give you the last dollar they had or the shirt off their back. Its now our turn to repay the favour and dig deep to raise some $ to help support Rylan, Clo, Damo and Sophia through this journey.

Its likely that Rylan will need to remain in Melbourne for some time. We would like to raise some $ to relieve a bit of the financial pressures they will experience, and hopefully to put towards family outings for when Rylan is well enough to spend time out of the hospital to create some good long lasting memories through this tough time for him.
