High five for Ollie

Hi my name is Oliver. I am 2 years old and have a nasty rare disease called Pearson's Syndrome - which I was diagnosed with at 8 months of age. Pearson's Sydnrome is so rare, as far as we know, I am only one of two people in Australia with it.

Pearson's Syndrome affects everyone differently (Please Google Pearson's Syndrome for more information). I have been through a lot since I was born; frequent doctor visits, hospitalisation, blood transfusions, lots of pricking and prodding, plus lots more. I am very brave though.

I am currently as we speak in hospital. So far it has been a long stay, we are coming up to week five. The doctors and I are on a first name basis and I just charm the nurses.

When I am out of hospital I love to watch my favourite TV shows - 'The Wiggles', 'Postman Pat' and 'Mister Maker'.

Because either Mummy or Daddy are by my side all the time, there are things they are unable to do, like work - as I would much rather them here with me holding my hand or sometimes me hold theirs.

So if you were kind enough to donate what would your money go towards?

- Medical expenses
- Petrol, it is a 45 minute trip each way when either Mummy or Daddy come (hospital only allows one parent to stay overnight)
- Daily car parking costs at the hospital
- Every day bills

But hey I am not going to forget about myself. When I am feeling better I love to do things like day trips to the zoo. Going to the football with Daddy and there is so much more I would love to explore and experience.
