I volunteered at Samrong Children's Farm in January 2015. I stayed for a week and taught english to the intermediate students. I built a strong connection with one of the children and was very upset to leave him. The farm teaches the children about sustainability and living off their resources and hopefully once they have finished school they have the skills to gain work either in farming or in the city.
I wanted to help the farm as the children need clothes, resources such as exercise books, pens and thongs. They often have to buy food in and I want the money to help with this.
I am running the Perth City to Surf Marathon to raise funds. The funds will be banked by me and then taken to the farm when I visit again in October to take them more english lesson resources. I have also set up my own ebook business and all these profits are going to the orphanage. I have decided to not reimburse myself my original investment but to give all profits to the farm.
I am fundraising for Samrong Children's Farm in Cambodia. They look after orphaned and disadvantaged children. The children live at the farm, go to school, have all there meals and needs met and learn English. The farm relies on volunteers to come and teach and the funds go towards food and clothes.
