On Tuesday 25 March, a fire tore through the workshop at Dragos Autos Pty Ltd, located at 35 Durham Road, Bayswater. In just a few hours, everything Drago and Linda built was reduced to ashes. As reported by 7News https://7news.com.au/news/bayswater-fire-cars-destroyed-in-major-workshop-blaze-c-18154202, it's "burned - 100 per cent". Dragos Autos wasn’t just a car mechanic business—it was a home. It was a place built on hard work, honesty, and a commitment to the community. Drago and Linda spent years growing this into something they could all be proud of. I know her staff are like family to her, and now, they’re facing a future as uncertain as them. Even their beloved resident dog, Buddy, showed what kind of family they are. During the chaos of the fire, Buddy bravely ran back into the burning workshop looking for his master Drago who was desperately trying to save the business. Thankfully, Buddy survived—but it’s a moment none of us who have met Buddy will ever forget. His loyalty is a reminder of the bond they all share there. I'm asking for your support to raise $100,000 to help Drago and Linda: • Cover rent and overhead costs while they recover • Pay for re-location to set up a temporary workshop whilst the current premises are being rebuilt • Pay their staff wages so they are not left stranded • Replace vital tools, equipment, and machinery destroyed in the fire Both Drago and Linda have always been there to help their customers, family and friends when they needed them.
