Hi everyone 👋🏼
My name's Liam Slatter, this year I spent the year travelling Thailand and performing in a circus in Pai,
it was an incredible year filled with amazing people and wonderful experiences.
Unfortunately the trip came to a sudden and drastic stop when I was diagnosed with stage 2 Testicular cancer. As you can imagine it quickly put an end to what was shaping up to be the most amazing experience of my life so far.
I went in for surgery at Bangkok hospital, Chiang mai, to have the cancer removed. The surgery went well and the news was relatively positive until I found out that my travel insurance had lapsed and wasn't going to cover the $6500 (120000 baht) for the surgery.
I ended up having to borrow the money from people close to me for the surgery and immediate flights home. I am now awaiting chemotherapy and further testing to see if more treatments are necessary. (Radiotherapy)
This has put me in a rough spot financially because I'm not going to be able to work while I'm receiving treatment which may go on for a number of months and I'm struggling to find local support to help me through this period. I am remaining positive and know everything will work out but it is a sensitive situation at the moment.
Anything you're willing to give or able to, will help me get to medical treatment, hopefully house me nearer to the hospital and travel too and from treatments.
Anything helps no matter how small.
Thankyou so much ❤️
