Hi everyone, I am heading to Sumatra in October to catch up with my old work friends and orangutans at the Orangutan Haven. This place holds special meaning for me. I used to work with some of the orangutans and have supported the concept and idea since the Sumatran Orangutan Conservation Programme decided to develop this project in 2017. This project was initiated in 2017 and was developed as a sanctuary for orangutans that could not be released into the wild. However, the project has evolved over the years, aiming to become a role model for conservation, animal welfare, and sustainable practices and a source of knowledge and education for future generations. Nowadays, there are 6 orangutans already living in Orangutan Haven. They have been victims of abuse and violence in the past, but have already begun their new life in their forever home. I am seeking funds for the project to buy a fabulous video camera. Dr Ian Singleton would like to take quality videos and photos to showcase the project and progress, raise the profile, and record the orangutan's behaviour. This is an essential tool for the project, and I hope you can donate to my efforts to raise this money.
