I'm participating in the Surf Coast Century race in September. A 100KM ultra marathon below towering sea cliffs, along remote beaches and through extensive wildflower hinterland. I aim to complete the 100KM run in one go to raise $10,000 for the Mirabel Foundation. My goal is to raise $100 for each kilometre I run on race day. This is part of my ambitious goal to raise $50K for The Mirabel Foundation through the Beans for Dreams a 'Coffee for a Cause' campaign by the time I turn 50 in June 2025. I'm sure I'll face discomfort and pain during the 100KM run, but it's nothing compared to the daily hardships and fear some children endure due to parental drug abuse. That's why I'm raising money for The Mirabel Foundation, a fantastic organisation supporting children orphaned or abandoned because of parental drug use. Mirabel helps these kids find a sense of belonging and hope, ensuring they can reach their full potential. Some interesting points to note about the 100KM run: - In the months leading up to the event, I will have logged over 2,000KM in training. If we included these KMs then a $100 donation would only be $0.05 per KM! Great value!! - The longest race distance I've ever run so far is a half-marathon! - Nine months ago I was completing the couch to 5K plan due to injury....So, what could possibly go wrong? - The race has a 19 hour cut off which I will try and beat!
