About

A CHORAL CHRISTMAS APPEAL

With the release of ‘Teach Me Love’ - an original song written and performed especially for this cause - we launch our Christmas Appeal. Through this campaign we’ll be raising funds for 3 charities : Save The Children, Refugee Migrant Children Center (RMCC) & Bear Cottage.

This fundraiser invites you to be a part of our music video that will be released on Christmas Day. Although optional to participate, upon donation you will receive a private link to submit a short video featuring you and your loved ones: family, friends, colleagues, pets or holding pictures of those you love who are no longer with us.

A detailed brief on how to film yourselves is below. It is very simple, promise! :) And you will have until December 1st, to submit it. From that date onwards, we will edit your videos, for the big Christmas Day reveal of our music video.

Please join us and let’s raise our voices, together, through this fundraising campaign. With your donation you will add your voices to the voices of the choir and together we’ll be working towards a fairer world.

The MUSIC VIDEO

With this fundraiser we are inviting our donors to appear in our music video and be part of this legacy project. Although optional to take part, upon donating you will receive a thank you message and a private link to submit a 15-30 second video featuring you and your loved ones. You can read the detailed brief on how to film below. It is very simple and you have until 1st of December to submit it. We will then edit all these videos into a beautiful tapestry to create a music video, released on Christmas day.

HOW TO FILM YOUR VIDEO
• Set your phone camera to record at the highest quality available.

• Set a wide angle shot, in front of a simple, non-distracting background, either indoors or out.

• Place some chairs, benches, or stools etc. at the lower centre of the frame, if you wish to take a seat.

• Get ready and start recording without anyone in the frame to start with.

• As the camera rolls, slowly walk into the frame with your loved one(s) and take a seat (or stand). You can sit with your children, with your parents, grandparents, wider family, teachers, mentors, friends, colleagues, pets, or holding photographs of those who are no longer with you.

• Take your position. Take a moment. And look at the camera for about 10 seconds. Natural does it. Giggles are fine, tears are also welcome. Any reaction is beautiful, that comes up naturally and authentically. Take this moment to be you, next to those who mean a lot to you.

• Upload the video file into the folder found at the private link.

ABOUT THE SONG -

Teach Me Love is a choral piece composed for an age-diverse choir bringing together children and adults. Written by internationally acclaimed Australian composer, Ekrem Eli Phoenix, it was performed by VOX Ensemble of Sydney Philharmonia Choirs alongside the NSW Public Schools Singers from The Arts Unit.

The piece was recorded on September 16, at Trackdown Studios with Rachel Collis on the piano and 34 singers on the microphones under the baton of renowned conductor Elizabeth Scott.

Teach Me Love was written and performed specifically for this cause, with a vision to contribute towards tangible, positive outcomes in the community.
