Our Archie boy lost his life on his 1st birthday, the 23rd of August 2022. He had an infection called Group A Streptococcus which then turned to Sepsis resulting in organ failure and sadly his death. If the words “Could it be Sepsis?” were used earlier it could have saved his life. Our goal is to raise awareness around Sepsis so that no other family has to go through what we went through. Know the signs for Sepsis. Our walk for Archie is on the 16th September at 8am, 6.5km round trip starting at Speers point amateur sailing club. We will be wearing blue ? A donation of your choice is required to participate. We have also organised for Newcastle City Hall clock tower to be lit up Pink for World Sepsis day (13th of September) Donations will be going to Sepsis Australia. With your help, we will: support Australian hospitals to improve sepsis care in Australia by developing lifesaving clinical guidance to detect, diagnose and treat the condition; raise community awareness of sepsis symptoms and the importance of seeking immediate medical attention; and establish a much-needed National Centre for Sepsis, which will play a key coordinating role in fighting the condition across the country.
