Unleash the Power of the Clippers: Shave to Sterilise Bali's Dogs

Hey there! I'm Jess and I'm inviting you to join me in my head-shaving adventure to make a lasting impact on Bali's dog population. Introducing "Unleash the Power of the Clippers: Shave to Sterilise Bali's Dogs", a crowdfund campaign where I've committed to shave my head to support dog sterilisation initiatives in rural villages in Bali.

Why shave my head? I spend several thousands of dollars a year on my hair and have coloured it blonde for the past 17 years. This has become my identity. I've spent the last 5 months in Bali caring for dumped puppies, witnessing continuous breeding and rescuing dogs from unimaginable suffering. Sterilisation is the only way to stop the continuous cycle of unwanted puppies and I believe in taking actions that speak louder than words. Before I leave Bali, I want to be part of the solution. I am committed to supporting the management of the dog population in Bali through sterilisation, a cause that holds greater importance to me than even shaving my head.

Why dog sterilisation? Bali has a rapidly growing overpopulation problem leading to challenges in terms of animal welfare and public health. Did you know that a single female dog and her puppies can produce 67,000 puppies in only 6 years? By supporting dog sterilisation programs, such as Bali Pet Crusaders, we can make a significant impact on reducing the number of dumped, neglected and stray dogs, preventing the spread of diseases, and improving their overall wellbeing.

Why Bali Pet Crusaders? I'm partnering with trusted local animal welfare organisation, Bali Pet Crusaders, who have a proven track record of successful sterilisation programs. They're a mobile sterilisation unit who travel around the island to help communities care for and sterilise local Bali dogs and cats. The funds we raise together will directly contribute to covering the costs of sterilisation surgeries, post-operative care, and community education to promote responsible pet ownership. Bali Pet Crusaders will receive every single dollar raised through this campaign.

Here's how it works: The more money we raise, the more hair I will chop off. I currently have 42cm of hair, so with every $833 raised, I will cut off 7cm of hair until at $5000, I'll have chopped off all my hair! The aim is, with each milestone achieved, my hair will transform and so will the lives of Bali's dogs.
