Two months ago my husband started feeling unusual chest pains. He had a scan and the hospital gave him the all clear but recommended a CT scan just to make sure.
They found large tumor in his chest and they were able to successfully remove most of it. We waited weeks for the biopsy to comeback and when it did it was not what we expected. It showed a very rare form of Luekemia that had the doctors unsure of how to treat it.
Right now the diagnosis is Acute Myeloid Luekemia with some unusual variations. This is a very serious disease and he will be in the hospital for the next 6 months for treatment and transfusions. If that is successful there is another 1-2 years recovery and treatment to follow.
This has left us all beyond devastated. Our house is not a home without Mitch. Not only do we miss his physical presence but his financial contribution to our household too.
Me and Max (our 6yr old) are entering a terribly uncertain time. I can't work much as I will be caring for Mitch both in and out of hospital and need to care for our son.
We are asking for help in this dark time. There are so many friends and family who keep telling us "let us know what you need" - so this is our way of doing that. We need money to keep our house, to keep dinners and school lunches flowing, to pay the non stop bills and everything that comes with just existing.
Please send us love and support in any way you can. Home cooked meals and coffee beans will help too!
Hi Fam!
Mitch, I was gutted when I heard the news! You look good mate, keep up the positive thinking.
You have a great support network with your lovely wife and son. Demelza reach out if I can help in any way!
Lots of love
