You all know Bear and his unruly hair and beard. Well, on the 25th February 2023, after 43 years, he has decided to cut his hair and shave off his beard, to raise funds and support 2 very important causes that are close to his heart. In Bear’s words ‘Since working in the hospital, I have seen first-hand the impact that illness has on families. The last thing they need to worry about with a sick child is where they can stay to be close to them whilst they undergo treatment. That's where the Ronald MacDonald House shines. It provides a home like environment where families can be close to their child and be supported by other families in similar situations. This also helps protect the mental health of the entire family. That's where the second cause that's close to my heart comes in the Black Dog Ride. I have been participating in the Black Dog Ride for the past 7 years and have been the state Coordinator for the last 5 of them. I have seen impact that depression and suicide has on people of all ages, and from all walks of life. So with these 2 amazing causes in mind, I have decided to cut my hair and shave off my beard. My wife, children, grandchildren and nearly everyone who knows me will have never seen me like this. So come on and get on board by helping me raise some well needed money for these important causes.’
