About

Since January 2022 Tasmanian man Samuel McLennan has hand built a raft from rubbish. The rubbish has been found in the marine environment of Turrakana (Tasman Peninsula) and Lutriwita (Tasmania) and putting the pieces together (to make an ocean going vessel) has been no easy feat.

After hundreds of challenges, he's now on the maiden voyage from Hobart to Sydney and he's taking on the big waves, big winds and cold winter conditions to cause the changes we all want to see.

The majority of us are sick and tired of the direction that we are heading as a planet (and as a species). We can easily see there's increasing amounts of people struggling to survive. Mental health issues are rising rapidly, the natural environment is getting polluted and destroyed and people don't trust the leaders we currently have.

Samuel see's a simple correlation: unhealthy (unhappy) people create an unhealthy (unhappy) environment.

Scientists say that we are the only living species that creates a toxic environment to live in. This is really bad news for us now, future generations, nearly every other living organism and the future of the planet.

Samuel says "enough is enough" and is making a massive effort to cause the changes we all want to see:

- People and environments increasing in health.

During the journey he will stop at townships en-route to have important conversations about responsibility, integrity, authenticity, sustainability, creativity and many more.

Community and support has been building as people hear Samuel’s story - they become inspired, motivated to take action and find the courage to stand up to say ‘no more’.

Samuel has sponsors providing some equipment for the journey but the rest has been a self funded struggle - he has lived in his vehicle and gets food from places like the Salvation Army and community houses.

Will you choose to support cleaning up the planet now or will you leave the mess to the next generations?
