The Journey on the raft from marine rubbish is about to begin

Since January 2022 Samuel McLennan has hand built a raft from rubbish found in the marine environment of Turrakana (Tasman Peninsula) and Lutriwita (Tasmania) - it's been no easy feat.

The vessel is almost ready for the journey from Hobart to Sydney (he has an intention of a November departure) and there's a massive list of things to purchase and prepare and organise.

He is sick and tired of the direction that we are heading as a planet and he is making a massive effort to cause the change we all want to see - a planet getting cleaned and people and organisations showing care and respect.

We are creating a toxic environment for nearly every living organism to live in and this is really bad news for the future - he feels bad for the next generations.

During the journey, in a potentially ferocious mother ocean, he will stop at townships en-route to have important conversations about responsibility, integrity, authenticity, sustainability, creativity and many more.

Community and support has been building as people hear Samuel’s story - they become inspired, motivated to take action and find the courage to stand up to say ‘no more’.

Samuel has sponsors providing some equipment for the journey but the rest has been a self funded struggle - he has lived in his vehicle and gets food from places like the Salvation Army and community houses.
