Alpha-Cen https://astro.alphacen.org/en/ is an association helping young students in low-income countries in Central America and the Caribbean pursue a career in science. We are also harnessing Astronomy education to help the development of small unrepresented communities in rural areas. The funds collected in this fundraiser will be used specifically for the following Alpha-Cen causes: - Help students connect with scientists in different parts of the world to learn international scientific standards. We will help them attend schools, conferences and internships. - Help students connect with mentors who can help them lead a successful science career. - Launch a project to provide science education to children aged 4-18 in rural/remote areas in Honduras. Most of these kids do not have the opportunity of going to school - Alpha-Cen members will develop a curriculum to deliver science topics twice a month to the community, including remote and face-to-face visits.
