With dense greenery, difficult passes, glistening rivers and incredible views, it is hard to believe that the historic Kokoda Track was the site of one of the bloodiest battles for Australian troops in WWII. The trek is usually undertaken over a 10 day period with porters. Jarryd Rubinstein, Patrick Cosgrove and Oliver Lavers of Sydney's eminent real estate firm, The Rubinstein Group (TRG) will be attempting the entire 96km trek in only 4 days with no porters / carrying full 15kg packs. David Wolf lost his battle with brain cancer at age 23. We will be raising money for The Wolfy Foundation, a charity focusing on serving people living with brain cancer – their families and friends. The Wolfy Foundation is a registered and accredited charity to afford all donors the benefit of tax deductibility. This special bespoke trek is being facilitated by Kokoda Historical: https://kokodahistorical.com.au

Dear Family, Friends and Colleagues Foremost, sincere appreciation for all your generous support. We successfully raised over $50,000 for The Wolfy Foundation. Admittedly, we grossly underestimated the difficulty of the Kokoda Trail. Incessant steep inclines and declines - the most challenging terrain we have experienced. Completing Kokoda in only 4 days and no porters is a significant feat. Our tour operator was shocked at the speed, the fastest trek he managed in 17 years. The PNG jungle can be unforgiving, yet we remained focused and driven to achieve our objective. Rising at dawn and walking until dusk, whilst only stopping to refill our water from rivers, it was one of the most arduous challenges of our lives. We covered a total of 110km across some of the toughest terrain on earth. This did not come without collateral damage; Jarryd had a severe fever and cold sweats (presently recovering on antibiotics); Patrick rolled his ankle on several occasions and currently managing a possible fracture; Oliver suffered from extreme dehydration and heat stroke. All were cleared by the medical team prior to returning to Australia last night. Despite our suffering, what we experienced was not even an iota of the tribulations the young Diggers encountered during WW2. They gave their lives so we may live in freedom and peace - we salute and remember them. Thank you again for your donation, combined it makes a material difference. We channeled your overwhelming support as motivation to complete the mission. Sincerely Jarryd, Patrick and Oliver
