My friend Shreyash and I are cycling 160 km IN A DAY on Sat 19 March to raise funds to plant more trees to save koalas in Victoria!! Are we crazy? Maybe...but read on... . In Feb 2022, the Federal Govt FINALLY listed koalas as endangered in Qld, NSW and the ACT, but they don't have a plan for what to do, and the experts reckon it's too little too late. So we want to do something to help protect them where they have the best chance of long term survival - right here in Victoria. I do volunteer work for a GREAT little not for profit org called Koala Clancy Foundation - they partner with kind and smart landholders to plant the right local species of gum trees for koalas. Since 2016 they've planted over 57,000 trees, but their goal this year is 30,000 trees!! They also do quality monitoring and educational stuff too. You'll have to read the updates to find out...! I'll be riding my super-awesome FELT road bike, which has been my beloved two-wheeled friend for some years now.
