The image you see is the second story of the House my brother was living in only hours before! ----- $5 CAN HELP, PLEASE GIVE ANYTHING ----- In February 2022 Rodney was informed that Lismore would flood, this was not something new as Lismore NSW floods all the time. The local council area has building rules that make sure houses are built above the flood level that was established in the 70s and was never expected to be bettered, as a shock to everyone 2022 was there year that broke all records. A notice that this flood would break all records was issued at 3 am and by this point the water was waist-deep, the walk from home to higher ground would have taken hours so Rod, his 2 sons, a young girl, and 2 dogs contacted the emergency services to be told they were at the end of a long list of people to be collected. Long story short the rescue efforts arrived almost 10 hours later and they were all carried to safety but the experience has left scars we can't imagine and taken everything physical they owned, some items are not important but a roof is a basic need which Rod no longer has. The recent floods in Lismore have left my brother with nothing, he has lost everything and due to the nature of Lismores floods insurance agencies charged 10's of thousands of dollars to cover which was out of the budget of Rod and thousands of other Lismore residents. It is hard to fathom not having anything but the rescue process has left him with his clothes on his back and several dozens of damaged photos and that is it. For him to rebuild he needs quite a bit more then we expect people to give but please entertain the fact that even $5 can help, please give to see him pull through and be his amazing self again.
