To kick-start 2021, I made the decision to prepare for a massive bike ride in December. Until this time my average ride distance was 1.5km, which throughout the year had become regular 150km distances.
The initial destination was Brisbane, (from Melbourne), but I decided to exchange that for a Lap of Tasmania (about 1, 700 kms, in two weeks). I will be departing 18 Dec 2021.
I have primary goals with this ride: 1. encourage/inspire others to put another big objective out there to work towards (irrespective of your perceived/actual obstacles)
2. raise at least $10, 000 for the Launceston Women's Shelter
I chose this as my charity because, on a number of occasions, back in the early-mid 80s, I personally have been assisted (together with my mother and siblings) by the important services of the LWS. They continue to do an important work, and in fact, unfortunately, there remains to be an ever expanding need for their services.
